Price per plate. Multiple plate discounts available. Client will receive one 8” x 10” pigment print from resulting glass negative.

I learned the gelatin dry plate process while studying at George Eastman House Museum of Photography and Film in Rochester, NY. The emulsion, or film, is handmade in my darkroom New Orleans, Louisiana, and its speed is tailored to working with old brass lenses and large format cameras.

Portrait Commission includes two 4" x 5" handmade gelatin dry plate exposures. Clients will receive a digital file from the scanned-in glass negative which includes moderate retouching to remove unnecessary artifacts like dust.

This gelatin bromide emulsion technique was acquired while studying at George Eastman House Museum of Photography and Film in Rochester, NY. The emulsion is handmade in my darkroom (with lots of love and sweat) and is tailored to working with old brass lenses that have no concept of shutter speed.
